Botvin LifeSkills Curriculum
Important Please Read
This will be taught in all Health/PE classes in CCPS
This year Campbell County will continue to implement the LifeSkills curriculum that was started last year. It is being taught in Health and PE classes across the division. This curriculum, Botvin LifeSkills Training, is based on promoting health and personal development and covers a wide range of topics dealing with violence prevention to substance abuse prevention.
- This is a participation based program in which students are required to follow along and complete assignments in their personal workbooks during the lessons.
- During these training sessions, your child will learn goal setting, decision making skills, keeping friends, staying calm, how to communicate effectively with others, and various coping strategies when it comes to dealing with anger and anxiety.
Parents/Guardians, our PE Department asks for your help with these lessons.
Things you can do to help ensure this is a successful program for all students:
- encourage appropriate participation, to be respectful of other students and their participation in the program, as well as limiting behaviors.
- ask your child questions about the lessons and have further discussions about these topics at home.
As always, if you have any questions in regards to the curriculum, feel free to reach out to your child's Health and PE teacher.

Not following school/classroom rules
-
Unexcused absences
-
In-School or Out-of-School Suspension (ISS/OSS)
-
Tardies
-
